After six years in abeyance, the Shanghai Grand Carnival is back. With a plethora of rides, entertainment, and food, the carnival is ideal for a fun family weekend. The carnival began July 29rd and will run to October 30th, marking (almost) 100 days of fun-filled activity. Taking place at the Expo site in Pudong, it spans 80,000 square meters, making the Grand Carnival the world’s largest.

Last Time we talked about Shanghai beaches, to be precise, two artificial beaches in Shanghai, one of them is Bihai jinsha beach, the other one is Bund sand.

Today, we wanna recommend another place for summer is Pudong Binjiang Park or Binjiang Avenue. You might be familiar with The Bund Riverside Avenue in Puxi, (I bet a lot of you prefer Puxi than Pudong) however Pudong Binjiang Park won’t let you down.

It’s near Pearl Tower, Oriental riverside hotel and International conference center, if you know these places, then you almost there.

Earth Day Celebration – Cycling in Pudong on the 30th April, 10 am

As we all know, the passed April 22, was the Earth Day. In celebration this significant Day, the organisation of WISA invites you and your families, friends to join them for a 2-hour cycling in Pudong on the 30th April, 2011 starting 10am.

Event partnership will be with Earth Day Network, Fudan University and a number of local communities from the Pudong area.

Logistic arrangement on the 30th April  (Saturday):

10am:   meet at Metro Line 2, Guanglan Road station exit 5

10:10am-12:00am:   cycling by guided rider

12:00am:    lunch (networking)

Fee:  Bicycles will be provided for FREE (but only for adults, no kids bicycle), only pay for your lunch (about 40yuan/person)

In order to secure a bicycle, please register before 16th April with names of participants. You can sign up at the site here or send email to them.

There are limited number of bicycle available, please act fast! (It seems to be a little bit late for now, but you can still get it a try and contact them!)

Artificial beaches in Shanghai: Beach on the Bund and Bihai Jinsha

How many artificial beaches in Shanghai do you know? As far as we know, there are two.

It’s recently opened in March 31th and it takes only 20RMB to get inside. It’s heard that few people tried it. But, it looks like great!

How can you get there:

Sunny Beach
Waima Lu, near Maojiayuan Lu
外码路, 近毛家园路
Hours: daily, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
